Kristen Rose, LIMHP Presents: The Role of Diet Culture in the Development of Eating Disorders
(Pre-Recorded, Available All Month Long!)
Eating disorders are relatively rare, however complex, mental illnesses. There are multiple factors that contribute to the development of eating disorders including genetics, trauma, biological components, and societal pressures. The best-known environmental contributor to the development of eating disorders is the sociocultural idealization of thinness. This presentation will examine the prevalence of diet culture and the thin ideal as significantly influential factors in the development of these disorders. It will also provide information for Health at Every Size model as an alternative for the weight-centered paradigm prevalent in health care.
This is a pre-recorded presentation, which you will receive access to once you have registered. Information will be sent via your registration email, including the video link, quiz link, and handouts. Please complete the quiz included in your registration email by no later than 5pm on December 31st, 2025 to receive your CE certificate. CE certificates will be sent automatically when you complete and pass the quiz (8/10 correct). You may take the quiz as many times is necessary to pass.
