Corey Gray, LIMHP, LPC Presents LIVE: Authenticity as a Clinical Tool: Building Trust in an Age of Burnout

Therapists are trained to hold boundaries, maintain professionalism, and sometimes even hide behind clinical language. But clients, especially in today’s world of burnout, isolation, and endless noise, are craving something else: authenticity. This session explores how showing up as a real human being; using humor, appropriate self-disclosure, and raw honesty, can build deeper trust and create stronger therapeutic outcomes. We’ll look at research on the neuroscience of connection, practical ways to integrate authenticity without crossing ethical lines, and why clients respond more to genuine presence than polished technique. The takeaway: your “realness” is not a liability, it’s one of your best clinical tools.

This event is to be presented LIVE via Zoom on June 26th, 2026, from 12-1pm (Central Time). You must attend at this time to receive the CE credit, and you must attend the entirety of the session to obtain your CE certificate. This CE will NOT be recorded for playback later.

One CE credit hour will be available for this presentation. CE certificates will be sent out at the conclusion of the presentation after participants pass a quiz (8/10).
