Paul Davies and Amanda Milander-Mace present: Batterers Intervention Program, Working with Intimate Partner Violence.
This presentation covers the presenter’s experiences in running a Batterers Intervention Program for the first year. We will cover the methods and process of our BIP group as well as what we have learned in regards to working with perpetrators of intimate partner violence (IPV). This presentation will go through an overview of IPV, common areas of program resistance for those who batter, and how we address and/or work with this resistance to help facilitate change. Our program has received positive feedback from local agencies and has resulted in many graduating members returning to help mentor newly joining members. This presentation will cover our experiences, knowledge gained, and insights into working with this population.
