Kristin Erickson, LIMHP, LIPC, ACS, BCB Presents: Exploring Aphantasia: Insights and Considerations for Working with Clients (Live Presentation via Zoom the 25th at noon central time)

Join Kristin Erickson for our July Free CE!

It is not uncommon for counselors to integrate mental imagery or visualization therapeutic interventions into the counseling process. But what happens when clients are unable to see these images in their mind? Conversely, what if clients experience incredibly vivid images in their mind’s eye? How might either scenario impact the counseling experience and/or the types of interventions counselors might use?

Many counselors are not familiar with Aphantasia or Hyperphantasia, as our understanding of both concepts are relatively new in our field. Although our knowledge is rapidly expanding as researchers learn more, there are still so many unanswered questions to explore.

In this webinar we address the above questions and help counselors gain and increased understanding of Aphantasia and Hyperphantasia. We explore their impact on clients, and why it is beneficial for counselors to increase their awareness. Implications and considerations for our work with clients will also be discussed. Dr. Erickson will share her personal experiences and reactions to discovering she has congenital Aphantasia. She will also share the myriad of questions that came with that discovery, especially since she loves visual imagery exercises - one of her favorite self-care “go-tos."

This event is to be presented LIVE via Zoom on Friday, July 25th, 2025, from 12-1pm (Central Time). You must attend at this time to receive the CE credit, and you must attend the entirety of the session to obtain your CE certificate. This CE will NOT be recorded for playback later.

Please sign into Zoom with the name that you registered with to obtain your CE certificate. Information with the Zoom link will be sent via your registration email. One CE credit hour will be available for this presentation. CE certificates will be sent out at the conclusion of the presentation after participants pass a quiz (8/10).
